Eight of the best… best brunches in London
Catch up with friends, colleagues and family over a laid-back brunch and enjoy great food and drink in a buzzy and welcoming spot.
From Pergola’s bottomless brunches to a leisurely cruise with The London Shell Co, Paddington Central has the brunch to suit you. With bottomless prosecco and mimosas, vegan and plant-based delicious recipes, excellent music and welcoming serving teams, plan your weekend here.
For a Sunday group brunch…
Pergola
4 Kingdom St, London W2 6PY
Sundays at Pergola Paddington are all about the brunching with tables available at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm (children are welcome from 12pm-5pm). Select food from the independent food traders (burgers from Filth & Co, Japanese bites from Yuki and Kwispy fried chicken) and enjoy two hours of bottomless Prosecco or Camden Hells. It’s £25 pp with 10 people per table.
For the perfect brunch menu…
The Union at Paddington Central
4 Sheldon Square, London W2 6EZ
Doorstop treacle streaky bacon sourdough sarnie with fruity brown sauce; crushed avocado on toasted Borough seeded sourdough with rose harissa; Ogleshield cheese rarebit on doorstep cut sourdough, grilled mushroom and watercress and steak fries, medium-rare 6oz flat iron steak, skin-on fries, yeasted peppercorn butter… Are you hungry yet? Serving up brunch plates to meet every craving, The Union at Paddington Central also offers delicious smoothies and intense flat whites. Take a walk along the canal through Little Venice and beyond but make this your mid-morning pitstop. See the full menu for The Union.
For the newest brunch menu…
Smith’s Bar & Grill
25 Sheldon Square, London W2 6EY
The very welcoming Smith’s Bar & Grill have just launched a new brunch menu for £35pp. Available every Saturday 12pm-5pm, the new Brunch menu offers a Full English, avocado tartine, maple syrup pancakes, waffles and healthy fruit salad. Enjoy unlimited prosecco, bellini and mimosas for 90 minutes or the plates on their own.
For a legendary brunch…
Beany Green
6C Sheldon Square, Paddington Central W2 6EZ
Beany Green’s all-day brunch and bottomless Aussie brunch menus inspired by Melbourne and Sydney cafe culture have acquired legendary status around these parts and rightfully so. They’re available every day (8am-3.30pm) and 7pm on weekends (last orders at 5.30pm) and the bottomless brunch – one savoury dish, one sweet dish (smashed avocado on charcoal bread and the award-winning banana bread sandwich, thanks very much) – plus mimosas and prosecco can be enjoyed for a leisurely 90 minutes. Find out more information on Beany Green.
For the home of the London brunch party…
Huckster
4 Kingdom Street, Paddington Central, W2 6BD
Huckster is so fond of brunch, they’ve created three different themed brunches with the Dancehall Brunch every Saturday, the R&B Originals Brunch every Sunday (both of these include two courses and 45 minutes of bottomless rum punch) or Martha’s Night Brunch (two courses and 45 minutes of bottomless gin fizz cocktails) from 7pm-11pm. Expect delicious food and excellent playlists.
For spectacular views of the canal…
Darcie & May Green
Sheldon Square, Paddington Central W2 6DS
Brunch on a barge… But not just any old barge – a floating piece of art designed by the godfather of British Pop Art, Sir Peter Blake. How can you resist? Darcie & May Green’s bottomless brunch is available every day and with walk-ins for groups under 15, it’s the ideal option for last-minute plans. They have an amazing assortment of veggie and vegan options and will cheerfully swap out any eggs on the menu for scrambled tofu or their famous charcoal sourdough for a gluten-free option. Once you’ve chosen what to eat, all that remains is to decide if you want a mimosa or a prosecco next.
For comfort food…
Massis
9 Sheldon Square, Paddington Central W2 6HY
Open from 12pm, Massis is just what’s needed (eg the morning after the night before) when all you really need is a comforting, healthy and delicious brunch. From warming and moreish cheese sambousek (Lebanese pastries stuffed with halloumi and feta cheese, parsley and pine nuts) to sharing platters of hummus, moutabal (smoked aubergine purée, sesame sauce with pomegranate seeds), tabouleh, falafel, spinach fatayer and kibbeh kras, Massis is the thinking brunch. They’ve also got an excellent selection of virgin cocktails including a soul-lifting mint cooler (fresh mint and lime with orange blossom water, apple juice and lemonade).
For brunch on a boat…
London Shell Co
OK so it’s not technically brunch, but five courses aboard the Prince Regent, while it cruises past iconic London landmarks, makes it without a doubt one of the most memorable lunches you’re likely to have. And it’s definitely leisurely, which is what brunch is really all about. Lunch cruises run on Saturdays and Sundays with doors opening at midday for a 12.30pm departure. The delicious and seasonal five-course set menu is £65 and there’s an excellent wine list as well as an array of cocktails, spirits, beers and ciders. Get on board!
