Minimising Gas Consumption and Maintaining Thermal Comfort
Success Stories
This case study demonstrates how strategic adjustments to existing systems can result in substantial benefits to energy efficiency and operational performance. We completed an audit which revealed that thermal heating and cooling was the primary energy consumption at our Storey space in 4 Kingdom Street.
Intervention
The project aimed to minimise energy waste by heating and cooling only when necessary.
We did this by utilising readily available data from the existing infrastructure by connecting the Building Management System with lighting system occupancy sensors; enabling the system to respond to live usage requirements.
The impact
- 39.5% energy savings vs the building average which is reflected in financial savings.*
- 61.4% less carbon intensity vs the building average.*
Increased
- HVAC equipment life, resulting in fewer maintenance issues and breakdowns.
* Data collected from January-December 2023.

A redeveloped, sustainable Amphitheatre
Committed to a greener, decarbonised campus by 2030.
Greener Spaces
Every single decision we make, every day, is made with our environmental impact in mind. From how we design and construct our new buildings, to how we refit and repurpose our pre-existing ones. From the smart tech we use to make our buildings as efficient as possible, to the way we make sure none of our waste goes to landfill.
And it’s an ongoing journey. We’re always looking for new ways to progress further – and we work hand-in-hand with our customers, suppliers and partners to help them do the same.
